Fukui Denki: ransomware hits a file server; partner and employee data may have leaked

Fukui Denki (Chuo, Chiba) disclosed on 5 September 2024 that it had been attacked with ransomware by a third party. It found the attack on its file server on 30 August and disconnected the affected devices. It reported the damage to the Chiba Prefectural Police on 2 September. A leak of business partner data (transaction data including company and contact names), personal data including My Number data of current and former employees, and business and financial information could not be ruled out.
