Marukan: ransomware encrypts some servers

Marukan (Higashiosaka, Osaka), which makes and sells pet food and supplies, disclosed on 2 September 2024 that some of its servers had been encrypted by ransomware. It found the damage on 16 August. It is investigating the extent, including any personal data, and has reported to the police and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
