Shinshu University: personal data leaked from the teacher-training course system

On 25 September 2024 an outside organisation reported that student data from a system of the university's teacher training support centre might be leaking, and the system was cut off from outside traffic. According to the Asahi Shimbun, about 4,100 current and former students who took teacher-training courses since 2009 were affected, with names, email addresses and passwords among the data. The investigation result of 14 March 2025 confirmed that personal data in the course record system leaked because of a cyberattack.
