Mizuho Bank: suspected DDoS attack makes Mizuho Direct and other online banking hard to reach

From about 7 a.m. on 31 December 2024, Mizuho Bank's Mizuho Direct online banking and its corporate Mizuho e-Business Site became hard to reach, disrupting transfers and balance checks. Service recovered around 10 a.m. The bank said no customer data leaked and there was no malware damage, and that it was sharing information with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police. The cause is believed to be a DDoS attack.
