AXA General Insurance: unauthorized access to the pet insurance system
AXA General Insurance disclosed on 25 July 2025 that part of its pet insurance system had been accessed. The investigation found a third party may have tried to extract data between 19 March and 21 April, and about 553,000 records may have leaked in total, including about 143,000 policyholders and insured persons and about 335,000 people who asked for quotes or brochures: addresses, names, genders, birth dates, phone numbers, emails and some bank account details. The third report on 15 May 2026 found that about 64,000 car insurance customers were also included, because a mechanism copied their details into the pet insurance system.
