Kowa Emori: ransomware outage

A ransomware infection on 7 January caused a system outage at chemicals trader Kowa Emori, delaying order and shipping work. Its email system also stopped, and it asked business partners to contact it by phone or fax. A second report followed on 26 January. Its fourth report on April 27 said systems and operations were stable, with no new intrusion or operational impact and no clear traces of external data leakage. Short-term measures scheduled through the end of March were complete, and regular reporting ended.
