Nichirei: cyberattack

On 13 July, a cyberattack caused a system failure at frozen food maker Nichirei, which cut off its systems. Warehouse operations at the Nichirei Logistics group and frozen food shipments at Nichirei Foods stopped; all sites were back to normal on 24 July. Its seventh report on 18 September confirmed that personal data stored on the servers leaked: 3,308 delivery customers, 6,849 business partner staff, and 43,709 group employees, family members and job applicants, including pay, residence status and HR data.
