Hakuhodo: unauthorized operation of the Housing Energy Saving 2024 campaign office system
On 20 October, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said the application system run by Hakuhodo, secretariat of the government's Housing Energy Saving 2024 subsidy campaign, had been operated without authorization from outside, and registered contractors' data may have leaked. 23,918 people at 16,950 businesses (preliminary) are affected: names of company representatives, names and addresses of sole proprietors, and names, departments, titles and work addresses, phone numbers and emails of subsidy contacts. All system functions were stopped. No leak of consumer data was found.
