Maruki Medical Systems: cyberattack stops orders and shipping

On 15 October, Maruki Medical Systems, a medical equipment wholesaler in Sendai, said its servers came under cyberattack from about 10:00 that day and its core ordering, purchasing and inventory system was completely down. It stopped taking orders and shipping, and takes orders by fax at each branch. Its follow-up on 26 October confirmed unauthorized access from outside and said whether data leaked is under investigation. It has filed a preliminary report with the Personal Information Protection Commission and consulted the police. It has been unable to read contact form messages since 15 October.
