What happened

From late April to July, a third party accessed the tool used to manage the member database. Data including member records may have been taken in early May. [1]

  1. A security check found traces of the access; the company closed the tool and began investigating. [1]

  2. It began notifying members and announced the incident; the PPC had already received a first report. [1]

Impact

Up to about 152,500 members registered as of October 2026, including those who have since left, are affected. For all of them, email addresses, passwords, nicknames, dates of birth, gender, IP addresses and contract and billing history may have leaked. [1]

Members who answered surveys also had their names and addresses included, and members paying by direct debit from PayPay Bank or Rakuten Bank their branch and account numbers. No card data is held, and customers of the printed paper are not affected. [1] [2]

Response

All member passwords were reset and the server environment is being rebuilt. Members who use the same password elsewhere are asked to change it there too. [1]
