Toei Animation: unauthorized access to its network made it stop internal systems and affected the broadcast of four TV anime series

   It confirmed that its network had been accessed by a third party and decided to stop its internal systems. [1]

   It announced the case. It reported to the authorities, stopped part of its internal systems and restricted external access. With an outside expert it is checking whether customer, partner or personal data is involved. [1]

   It announced that the broadcast schedules of the TV anime "Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai", "Delicious Party Precure", "Digimon Ghost Game" and "One Piece" will be affected. [2]

When an employee downloaded software needed for work from an external website, the site had been tampered with so that software serving as the entry point for ransomware was downloaded at the same time. On March 6 it confirmed unauthorized access to its internal network. Some data on internal servers and PCs was encrypted, delaying regular operations and part of production for about a month. An investigation by an outside specialist confirmed no leak of information including personal data. [3]
