Software, programs and apps
Instructions that tell a computer or phone what to do, step by step; a single set of them is a program. An app is software made for one purpose, such as shopping, sending messages or viewing a map. It may be a mobile app on a phone, a desktop app on a computer, or a web application used inside a web page.
