Japan Meteorological Agency: unauthorized communication to mail devices may have leaked part of the mail data it received

   It announced the case. Unauthorized communication had targeted a system flaw the maker had not identified in the mail devices of the agency and the research institute. The cause is thought to be a device flaw also seen abroad. All devices have been replaced with ones with stronger security measures. [1] [2]

Part of the mail received by the agency (including its research institute and weather offices nationwide) from early June 2022 to late May 2023 may have leaked. The people concerned will be told individually in turn. The count has not been published. [1] [2]
