Nitto Seimo: ransomware encrypts business data

Nitto Seimo, which makes fishing nets and related products, disclosed on 19 January 2024 that its servers had been accessed by a third party and infected with ransomware. At about 8:00 on 16 January it found files stored on its servers encrypted; it set up a company-wide response team on the 17th and consulted the police. Business data and business software were encrypted and inaccessible, and whether data leaked was under investigation.
