Hoshi: ransomware; retail customer data may have leaked
Hoshi, which makes and sells Buddhist altars, ritual goods and memorial tablets, disclosed on 20 June 2024 that part of its network had been hit by ransomware on 15 June. It cut off the affected devices and reported to the police. Its second report on 7 November said the server held the names, addresses and phone numbers of customers who made a customer card at its Alte Meister Hoshi shop. An outside investigation found no traces of data being taken out, and the company called a leak very unlikely but could not rule it out completely.
