What happened

  1. NTT DOCOMO, Inc. found unauthorized outside access to docomo Online Shop and My docomo. [2]

  2. Procedures on both services were stopped from about 01:05 for emergency maintenance. The first notice at 09:00 said the cause and impact were under investigation. [1] [2]

  3. The second notice at 18:30 disclosed that customer data had leaked through the unauthorized access before the maintenance began. [2]

Impact

Up to about 300,000 records leaked, including names, addresses, birth dates, mobile numbers and contact numbers. Details are under investigation, and affected customers will be told once known. All access has been cut off and no further leak has been found. [2]
